Your Role as the RN Clinical Systems Educator Nurse Aide Training & Competency Development Coordinate, instruct, and evaluate Nurse Aide Training (NAT) classes in compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), and CMS requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain NAT curricula, lesson plans, skills checklists, and competency evaluations consistent with state and federal regulations. Prepare nurse aide students for successful completion of the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Competency Examination and entry into long-term care practice. Serve as a resource for nurse aide onboarding, orientation, and ongoing competency validation. Serve as back-up Medication Administration Instructor (MAI) in accordance with Pennsylvania MAI regulations (required or willingness to obtain). Clinical Education & Skill Validation Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the annual clinical skills fair, ensuring competencies required by CMS, PA DOH, and organizational policy are assessed, documented, and maintained. Provide hands-on skills training, clinical remediation, and ongoing education for licensed and unlicensed staff. Conduct OSHA-compliant respiratory protection fit testing (e.g., N95) for all employees upon hire and annually, maintaining required documentation. Serve as CPR/First Aid/AED Trainer, coordinating and delivering initial and renewal training in accordance with American Heart Association or equivalent standards (required or willingness to obtain). Support new hires and existing staff with education related to long-term care best practices, dementia care, infection prevention, wound care, falls prevention, abuse prevention, and resident safety. Clinical Systems & Documentation Excellence Teach all new clinical team members how to utilize Matrix (EHR system) as part of onboarding and orientation. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Matrix, providing ongoing education, troubleshooting, documentation audits, and workflow optimization to support regulatory compliance and quality outcomes. Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with PA DOH and CMS standards. Collaboration & Practice Excellence Partner with Directors of Nursing, nurse managers, and clinical leaders across all service lines (long-term care, personal care, memory support, rehabilitation, and other senior living services). Identify learning needs, trends, and performance gaps through collaboration, audits, incident reviews, and quality outcomes. Support practice changes, policy updates, and quality improvement initiatives through targeted education and competency validation. Promote evidence-based practice and consistent standards of care throughout the community. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Improvement Ensure all education programs meet CMS, Pennsylvania Department of Health, OSHA, and applicable accreditation requirements. Maintain accurate records of education, competencies, fit testing, CPR/FA/AED certifications, NAT, MAI, and required clinical credentials. Support survey readiness and post-survey action plans through staff education and competency validation. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives related to clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and resident outcomes. Required Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in long-term care or senior living Demonstrate experience in staff education, training, or clinical leadership Working knowledge of Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations, CMS requirements, and long-term care standards of practice Preferred Qualifications Certification in Nursing Professional Development, Staff Development, or Clinical Education Experience coordinating or teaching Nurse Aide Training programs in Pennsylvania Experience leading skills fairs, competency-based education programs, or survey preparation activities Experience serving as an EHR trainer, super-user, or clinical documentation auditor Knowledge of adult learning principles and dementia-specific education. Certifications (Required or Willingness to Obtain) Nurse Aide Training (NAT) Instructor approval in Pennsylvania CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor certification (American Heart Association or equivalent) Respiratory Protection/Fit Testing certification in accordance with OSHA standards Medication Administration Instructor (MAI) certification per Pennsylvania regulations.
