Under the supervision of the Program Administrator of the Crisis Center and the Director of Nursing, the Crisis Center RN Supervisor provides medical oversight, guidance and training to all Crisis Center nursing staff and providers. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing and provider services at the Crisis Center in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Medical Director, and/or the Director of Nursing Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained. This position is responsible for developing and implementing trauma informed, culturally appropriate, and person-centered processes to meet the needs of the individuals served at the Crisis Center. All services provided follow federal, state, and local guidelines and are performed based in a trauma informed, person oriented, and culturally and linguistically appropriate model of care. Collaboration with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing is expected to ensure medical, nursing, and provider procedures are reviewed and updated regularly and align with regulations that govern our facility. The RN Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the nurses and providers at the Extended Observation Unit (EOU) operated 24/7 including adherence to training, documentation standards, and workflow processes. They oversee the nursing and provider performance targets for the EOU. This position provides oversight of documentation quality and is required to collaborate with Crisis Center leadership to ensure workforce members are supported both operationally and professionally. The RN Supervisor will routinely conduct chart reviews for each nurse and provider monthly and provide constructive feedback and guidance as needed. Maintains the nurse and provider schedule to be completed and distributed 30 days in advance, required to find coverage for vacant shifts, and facilitates monthly nurse meetings. This position requires strong teamwork abilities, time management and organizational skills, excellent customer service, and flexibility to ensure the EOU is operating 24/7. Other duties as assigned to meet program and individual needs. Specific Targets: All Crisis Center internal and Xferall referrals and subsequent follow ups are responded to within 30 minutes. Individuals admitted to the EOU receive a nursing assessment within 15 minutes of admission. Provider examination occurs within one hour of admission to the EOU. The provider completes reassessment of progress of individuals on the unit each morning and evening. All individuals on the EOU receive a daily nursing assessment and two-hour reassessment and progress documented each shift. Monitor medication errors and report any trends. Discharge note is completed on each individual. Medication room procedures including medication inventory, medication fridge temperature checks, medication storage and disposal are followed 100% of the time. All of services notes are completed and signed by end of shift. 90% of full chart reviews receive a score of 80 or higher in following the Golden Thread. All incident reports are completed appropriately and timely. Monthly unit checks and chart reviews are completed. Crisis Center RN schedule is completed and distributed at least 1 month in advance. All required trainings are completed prior to due date. Runs monthly nurse and provider meeting. If Bilingual and receiving stipend, employee will be available to translate for other staff as needed and will utilize approved language in the provision of services as needed.

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted Texas nursing license as Registered Nurse required.
  • Must have at least one year of Mental Health Nursing experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
  • Experience working in a community mental health clinic or CCBHC preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • Two years of inpatient nursing is preferred.
