About The Position

The RN-Clinical Research Nurse Pool at Temple University will provide high-quality medical care to adult patients in the ALS-Neuromuscular Program within an outpatient setting. This role involves managing clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating patient care services.

Requirements

• Professional licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of PA.
• Demonstrated high degree of professionalism and nursing competence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use an electronic medical record system.
• Proven organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and software including MS Office.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Experience working with patients with neurological or related disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate timely direct and indirect patient care services in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and obtain patient history and vital signs.
• Administer injections, blood draws, IVs, and medications.
• Maintain records of vital statistics and other pertinent patient data in the EMR system.
• Field and triage patient telephone calls regarding medication changes, clinical status, and prescription renewals.
• Assist patients, families, and caregivers in identifying and overcoming barriers to quality medical care.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on health-related issues.
• Keep assigned patient logs up to date, including infusions.
• Obtain required pre-certification or prior authorization for complex treatments and drugs.
• Coordinate with the Clinical Research Nurse to facilitate recruitment, screening, and enrollment of patients for clinical trials.
