About The Position

The RN, Clinical Nurse Manager at Baroness Hospital is responsible for providing leadership and direction for nursing staff in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This role encompasses management of patient care, staff performance, and operational budgets, while ensuring compliance with quality metrics and safety standards. The Clinical Nurse Manager collaborates with various healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and supports the development of nursing staff through mentorship and education.

Requirements

• Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS certification completed prior to going to the unit and maintained thereafter.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or health-related degree.
• Five or more years of clinical experience with evidence of leadership abilities.
• At least 3 years of experience in a specialty area of practice.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Certification in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for nursing staff in the MICU.
• Accountable for all aspects of management including patient safety and quality of care.
• Prepare and manage operational and capital budgets for the unit.
• Collaborate with nursing colleagues, physician leaders, and ancillary departments.
• Participate in the development of department goals and decision-making activities.
• Mentor Clinical Staff Leaders and act as a role model for professionalism.
• Participate in hospital committees as assigned.
• Oversee the implementation of quality metrics and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Conduct daily leadership rounding and ensure hourly rounding by staff.
• Manage recruitment and retention measures for the unit.
