Are you a highly skilled nurse looking for a unique, fast-paced, and rewarding role? UNC REX Critical Care Transport is hiring Clinical Nurse IIs to join our elite team—providing lifesaving care during interfacility transports across eastern North Carolina. This is a weekend night shift position with the option to be based at either UNC REX (Raleigh) or UNC Holly Springs Hospital . 🚑 About UNC REX Critical Care Transport We operate a fleet of 10 state-of-the-art ambulances providing Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Critical Care Transport (CCT) . Our team serves a wide range of patients—from those requiring routine transfers to critically ill patients in need of ventilators, LVADs, or intra-aortic balloon pumps. Team Configurations: BLS : Two EMTs ALS : EMT + Paramedic or RN CCT : EMT + Paramedic + Critical Care RN We average 600 transports per month , collaborating closely with emergency physicians, intensivists, cardiologists, neurologists, and other specialists to provide seamless, expert care from one facility to the next. 💡 What You'll Do As a Clinical Nurse II , you'll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic, mobile environment. Working closely with EMTs and paramedics, you'll be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care during transport. You'll manage patients experiencing: Stroke (CVA), STEMI, sepsis Cardiac arrest, trauma Pediatric and neonatal critical illness Respiratory failure and high-risk OB cases You'll also play a key role in patient advocacy, education, and coordination with referring and receiving teams to ensure continuity of care. Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
