About The Position

This position qualifies for our UNC Health Johnston Incentive Program, which offers up to $25,000 tuition loan forgiveness (3 year commitment) OR a $15,000 commitment incentive (2 year commitment). You may see patients with chest pain, CHF, syncope, strokes, Diabetes, COPD, and any number of other med-surgical type diagnoses. We also see some surgery patients. Excellent teamwork with a dedicated work family. Patient ratios: 1 RN: 5-6 Patients, on our day shift 3 Nursing Assistants and a Secretary and over nights we have 3 Nursing Assistants for support. Requirements

  • Graduation from school of professional nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina by the day of clinical care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
  • Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in revision of plan of care.
  • Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems.
  • Develops goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations.
  • Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.
  • Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care.
  • Reads journals that contain studies or articles that may be applicable to practice.
