About The Position

The position (K0230291) manages the clinical nurse personnel for the Medicaid Medical Bureau. Oversees the direct supervision for scope of work and capacity of the Medicaid program's oversight of nurse assigned clinical programs for clinical oversight of the utilization management and care coordination of services with the managed care organizations contracted with the State Medicaid program. Supports oversight with agency data, clinical quality measures and initiatives with managed care organizations contracted with the state or as assigned by the Medicaid Medical Director or Deputy Director of the Medical Bureau. Reviews and monitors assigned clinical program's to continually improve the state Medicaid program services and to ensure they are operating consistent with federal and state regulatory guidance, agency goals, administrative and legislative directives and current clinical best practices with consultation with bureau leadership.

Requirements

  • High School, GED
  • Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
  • Three years of experience in the nursing profession working as a licensed clinician in the clinic, hospital, health insurance, or managed care organization.
  • Three years of supervisory experience needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree - BSN

Responsibilities

  • Manages nurse assignments for clinical consulting for policy development with policy department, manager, and division teams.
  • Assists clinical nursing staff with clinical policy development, implementation and monitoring of program as it applies to program improvements.
  • Develops with bureau leadership strategic and prioritized work plans for clinical policy planning that will enhance contracted managed care organization clinical program oversight.
  • Provides clinical guidance for new policies for Medicaid programs through interpreting current best clinical practice guidance and administrative and legislative directives regarding such programs.
