The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care and the provision of other patient services in a clinical setting. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency policy. Under the direction of the of the Director and Associate Director, the RN Clinical Expeditor, in real time will expedite, prioritize, synchronize and mediate clinical issues which are barriers to discharge and delays in patient care. The RN will play a pivotal role in decreasing barriers, improve patient access and enhance quality of care using clinical expertise throughout the patients stay and discharge process. The RN Clinical Expeditor collaborates and provides support to healthcare providers, patients, physicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team to ensure consistent application of procedures, patient flow processes and optimal communication to improve patient discharge and patient flow at UAMS. The clinical expediter will work closely with Case Management at the local level to identify and help remove barriers to discharge and patient flow.
