About The Position

I. Position Summary: The Clinical Coordinator (CC) functions in role as clinician, educator, resource person, performance improvement coordinator, and mentor. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the CC monitors the competency of staff and provides clinical support to ensure competent qualified staff is providing patient care. Incorporated within each of these roles, the CC is a leader, role model, change agent, advocate, and cost-effective coordinator. Coordinates in-service education related to new technologies, new systems, new procedures, and competency-based education. Responsible for development and implementation of unit-based orientation, annual skills fair, new care standards, protocols, policies, procedures, and PI data analysis. Supports unit leadership and carries out the nursing philosophy, mission, vision, and values of Houston Healthcare through participation in appropriate committees. Assists with planning and implementing strategies that meet regulatory requirements as well as patient safety standards. II. Qualifications: A. Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. B. Experience: Three (3) years of current clinical experience in designated area. C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current US state RN license with authorization to practice in the state of GA. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification or obtained within nine (9) months of hire. Clinical /Professional certifications specific to area required within three (3) years. Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy. D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc. Must be able to utilize standard office equipment. Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Midas, Quadrant, etc.). Proficiency in Intranet/Internet use. Requirements
