About The Position

The RN Clinical Coordinator oversees daily clinical operations of the Specialty Clinic at a Critical Access Hospital. This role ensures high-quality patient care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance. The Clinical Coordinator acts as a liaison between specialty providers, nursing staff, and administration while supporting quality improvement, patient safety, and operational efficiency. The Clinical Coordinator must demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration across the team. Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation is essential, along with the ability to multitask and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations. Candidates should also possess knowledge of specialty-specific procedures and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the specialty clinic (e.g., orthopedics, diabetes, OB/GYN, etc.)
  • Ensure all patient care is delivered according to clinical best practices and hospital policies
  • Provide leadership and support to nursing and clinical support staff
  • Oversee patient triage, rooming, documentation, and follow-up care procedures
  • Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating clinical staff
  • Schedule clinical staff and manage daily workflow to optimize patient care
  • Assist with staff communications and performance evaluations
  • Promote continuing education and ensure staff maintain required licenses and certifications
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal healthcare regulations, including CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including audits, chart reviews, and performance tracking
  • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and timely
