Get to Know Your Team: Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center is New Mexico’s only hospital dedicated exclusively to cardiovascular care, including the state’s only facility performing left ventricular aortic device (LVAD) implant and a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing
  • Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Department may also require ACLS or PALS
  • Hours are 7:30am-4:30pm/Monday-Friday

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • 2 years of experience in specialty
  • 2 years of general nursing experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, develops and monitors the Structural Heart Program, in collaboration with the provider team.
  • Facilitates structural heart meetings to include information gathering for presentation to committee.
  • Organize pre-procedural care which includes TEE, LHC, Echo and CTA, and post-procedure care.
  • Liaison for family members.
  • Maintain database on evaluated patients.
  • Responsible for nursing and ancillary department education.
  • Collaborates with clinicians throughout the continuum of care to assess and analyze outcome data and promote quality structural heart outcomes.
