About The Position

MU Health Care is looking for a compassionate, highly organized Clinical Coordinator Nurse to play a vital role in our Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program (BMTCTP), supporting patients through one of the most critical journeys of their lives. In this dynamic role, you will serve as a trusted patient advocate, coordinating every aspect of the transplant process—from referral and evaluation through transplant and post-transplant care—while ensuring seamless communication among providers, patients, and families. Requirements

• Clinical experience in care and treatment of transplant patients.
• High level attention to detail.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
• Three (3) years of RN experience.
• Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in blood and marrow transplant clinical coordination.
• Oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department

Responsibilities

• Manage referral, evaluation, consent, and pre-transplant data for transplant patients and coordinate the clinical management of post-transplant patients.
• Develop materials and deliver programs to educate and support patients, families, and clinicians throughout the transplant process.
• Serve as liaison between referring practices and MU Health Care.
• Schedule tests, assessments, work-ups, and admissions for patients and provide patients with written information regarding upcoming tests, evaluations, procedures, etc.
• Follow the patient from referral and through post-transplant care.
• Perform duties necessary if the patient requires an allogeneic transplant, either related or unrelated.
• Perform donor searches for patients requiring unrelated allogeneic donor transplants.
• Provide necessary information to insurers regarding pre-transplant and transplant procedures and processes.
• Coordinate the receipt of verifiable authorization/precertification from patient insurers for evaluations, work-ups, and transplants before the procedure or process. Advise both patients and providers of patient insurance status.
• Ensure resources are available to assist the patient with contacting sources of assistance such as disability, Medicare, and Medicaid, and assist the patient with questions regarding insurance or billing.
• May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
