About The Position

Requirements

• Accredited School of Nursing required.
• 1 year of experience as a registered nurse preferred.
• Registered Nurse in the state of practice required.
• Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred upon hire.
• Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family-centered work environment.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office applications.
• Effective prioritization skills.
• Ability to provide health education to patients, staff, and the community.
• Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV & HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
• Triage patient phone calls and provide counseling and education to patients.
• Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and quality improvement programs.
• Demonstrate competence in making professional judgments pertaining to patient care.
• Screen and prioritize patient inquiries regarding medical care, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Evaluate and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
