JOB PURPOSE: The Registered Nurse Charge is a leadership role providing guidance and support to direct reports. This role will act as the leader for clinical nursing needs on their shift day or night. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves in a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching and research. Coordinates with leadership on schedules and timecards. Oversees staffing for nursing department. Responsible for employee performance evaluations. Assesses the full scope of patient needs using the nursing process on a continuous basis. Provides a safe environment for patients and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards. Cooperates with distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment. Maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers. Accountable for nursing practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development. Uses knowledge and judgement needed to meet the nursing needs of patient. Other duties may be assigned.
