About The Position

PeaceHealth is seeking a Charge Nurse for our Surgical Unit! This position is part-time, with a 0.6 FTE, and involves night shifts (12-hour shifts). The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $47.40 - $74.48. A hiring bonus and relocation assistance are available for eligible candidates. PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend is a state-of-the-art Level II Trauma center, focused on creating a patient-centered, healing environment with a strong emphasis on quality clinical outcomes and patient safety. Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required within 36 months of hire/transfer.
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience required in Acute care.
  • State of Oregon nursing license required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • 3 years RN experience preferred in acute care.
  • Facilitation skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care by shift and department.
  • Supervision and assessment of clinical practice. Direct and delegate to other team members.
  • Coach for performance to achieve individual and organizational goals; including orientation, competencies and evaluations.
  • Develop the departmental team and collaborative relationships to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Serve as a clinical and resource expert for the department.
  • Articulate shift/team operational issues to management as appropriate.
  • Appropriate stewardship of resources.
  • Adapt decision-making style to the situation and level of authority for achieving an optimal outcome including using collaborative decision making and effective communication skills.
  • Identify and apply opportunities for clinical practice improvement and support them with staff.
  • Ensure professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
