About The Position

We are recruiting for a motivated RN Charge Nurse - STD Clinic to join our team! We are here for life’s journey. Where is your life journey taking you? The registered nurse (RN) provides patient care and education in an outpatient setting to diverse patients, families, and community members throughout the lifespan, and the Charge Nurse serves as an expert and resource in these skills to the rest of the ambulatory care clinic team. The Charge Nurse adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics (2015) to provide care to all patients. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in patient safety and quality outcomes. Utilizes the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • 1-3 years of professional nursing experience in a patient care setting.
  • RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily operations in the clinic by employing clinical and managerial skills to care for patients while also providing guidance and leadership to other nurses, medical assistants, health educators, and other care team staff.
  • Prepares daily staffing assignments, mentors staff, evaluates performance, facilitates patient flow, and problem solves daily staffing and patient care issues.
  • Assesses the needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems.
  • Instructs individuals and families on health education and disease prevention and after care.
  • Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
  • Monitors all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity, develops and modifies patient care plans as indicated by patient’s responses and conditions.
  • Prepares patients for, and assists with examinations and treatments.
  • Administers medication, documentation and reassessment.
