About The Position

The charge nurse leader is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient-centered care during their assigned shift. This role involves facilitating, precepting, and mentoring staff and team members to foster professional growth and advance their knowledge and skills. The charge nurse continuously assesses unit needs to ensure adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts, collaborating with various clinical and nonclinical departments to coordinate timely patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Professionalism, adherence to regulatory and policy requirements, engagement with standards of practice, and holding team members accountable for safe, competent practice, quality care, and continuous improvement are paramount. The Charge Nurse reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager. Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system comprising 14 medical centers and over 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required within 3 years of hire
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience
  • CPR required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC per unit requirement (If required and not current must be obtained within 6 months of employment)
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities
  • Demonstrated professional and ethical behavior
  • Must be passionate about nursing and teamwork

Responsibilities
