About The Position

We are recruiting for a motivated RN Charge Nurse, Denver CARES - NIGHT to join our team! We are here for life’s journey. Where is your life journey taking you? The Denver CARES RN Charge Nurse performs supervisory functions for professional nursing and supportive staff who provide clinical care to an acute, patient population withdrawing from substances and seeking therapeutic, residential treatment. This position applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and clinical competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • 1-3 years of professional nursing experience.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • RN-Registered Nurse license from the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Knowledge of techniques, methods, and competencies of clinical nursing practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years Mental Health/Substance Use Disorder experience preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee department/unit for assigned shift employing clinical and managerial skills to care for patients while also providing guidance and leadership to other nurses.
  • Assess the needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems.
  • Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
  • Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient’s condition and vital signs.
  • Instruct individuals and families on health education and disease prevention and after care.
