About The Position

The RN Charge Nurse CV Stepdown Unit at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to ensure high-quality patient care in the unit. This role involves assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care, as well as instructing patients and families on treatment and medications. The Charge Nurse will lead the nursing team during their shift and maintain patient records, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN Preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer in specified units.
• PALS or ENPC certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer in the Emergency Department.
• CPI training required within 3 months of hire/transfer for Behavioral Health.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a leadership role within a nursing team.
• Additional certifications in specialized areas of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate the care of unit patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients' records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Provide leadership to the nursing team during designated shifts.
