About The Position
About the unit 3 Med Surg is a 25-bed unit which handles Bariatric patients/surgeries, medical patients, and any other surgical patients. About Wayne Hospital Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney failure. Scope of work The Charge Lead Nurse role is to provide direct oversight and supervision of all on line unit processes. This is inclusive of but not limited to staffing and scheduling changes affecting current shift, patient care issues and concerns. Appropriate allocation of resources responding to all codes, and handling employee issues and concerns. In addition to ensuring consistent flow of patients through the department. Functions within the framework of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates growth/development.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or equivalent
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- For new hires or recent promotions with ADN or Diploma, must complete BSN within 5 years of hire.
- 2 years of relevant experience recent nursing experience.
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
- CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN Unknown Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required
