This facility is home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical unit that offers advanced technologies to perform a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches. And, the Cotton Family Birth Center has received the Baby Friendly® designation by Baby-Friendly USA. The Cardiac Cath Lab at Grosse Point supports procedural labs and pre and post-procedure bays. As the referral center for the surrounding communities, we see and treat both elective and emergent patients with cardiac and vascular conditions. Utilizing the most up to date technology and supplies, the lab performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures, while specializing in high risk angioplasty with the use of heart support devices. In addition, we specialize in chronic total occlusions and structural heart procedures with in-lab TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement). The lab also performs numerous pacemaker implants, generator changes, loop recorder insertions, transesophageal echo and cardioversion procedures. Scope of work The Cath Lab Nurse, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Cath Lab Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Beaumont policies and procedures. Working within a multidisplinary team environment demonstrates specialized care within the cath lab and across the cath lab care continuum (Pre/Intra/Post Lab) while using critical thinking and excellent communication.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • B.S.N., or M.S.N., or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years required. This is effective April 18, 2023.
  • 1 year of relevant experience Minimum of one (1) year acute care experience.
  • Critical Care, Cath Lab, or Procedural/OR experience.
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required
