3 MHC is a 24 bed Prep/Recovery unit at Meijer Heart Center that prepares and recovers both outpatients and inpatients for their Cath and Electrophysiology Lab procedures. The unit is open from 6am – 9pm. The majority of 3 Heart outpatients are discharged the same day and are cared for by the same staff from arrival to discharge. We perform a wide range of procedures on 3MHC, including, electrophysiology, diagnostic and interventional cardiology, structural heart, and peripheral. Team members hired onto 3MHC will gain knowledge in all of these specialties. In addition, we perform diagnostic and follow up care to our heart and lung transplant patients, creating an opportunity for long term relationships with this patient population. Our team are experts at IV starts, time management, and managing vascular access sites. Nurses are often drawn to this unit due to the camaraderie and true sense of teamwork. We have a small team, and work alongside nurses, nurse techs, doctors, PA's, and cardiovascular technicians. Summary Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
