About The Position

Medical City Fort Worth is seeking a PRN RN for the Cath Lab Holding department. This role involves providing holistic, individualized patient care under the supervision of the director or designee. The RN will be responsible for the care of Cardiac Cath Lab patients, ensuring adherence to standards and practices consistent with the organization's mission and goals. The position requires recognizing the specific needs of patients with CAD, CHF, PVD, MI, UA, and Angina, and applying appropriate knowledge and skills in patient care activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing required.
  • Ability to read EKG monitors.
  • Current RN license by the State of Texas or from a compact state if you declare the compact state your primary state of residence required.
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current Specialty certification preferred.
  • BSN degree or enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire.
  • 2+ years of experience in an acute care setting.
  • 1-2 years ICU/CCU critical care experience.
  • Ability to read arrhythmias.

  • Current Specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN's scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
  • Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance, incorporating patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
  • Supervise invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures for adherence to aseptic and sterile technique.
