Newport News, Virginia Overview Performs a variety of duties related to cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and neuro radiology procedures and responsible for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. Responsible for necessary quality control performance and documentation that supports best practice standards and accreditation initiatives. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on age, physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. What you will do Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical ands psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served. ( I.E. surgical, med surg, critical care, ED, specialty unit). Partners with patients and families to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Assesses and incorporates evidence-based standards of practice. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination care. Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of plan of care. Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates organization of work, knowledge of process/procedure for applicable modality(s) and performs independently without close supervision. Demonstrates accountability for environment of care and ensures availability of necessary resources to provide positive work flow and efficient daily operations. Participates positively by taking ownership in training and support of all team members and students as needed.
