Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with at least two years of direct experience in the treatment of mentally ill or emotionally disturbed persons under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional.
  • OR a Registered Nurse (RN) with at least three years of supervised experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment, or relevant work.
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
  • Must complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials as required for the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited college or university, with a specialization in psychiatric/mental health nursing preferred.
  • Experience working with children, youth, families, and adults with behavioral health issues.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Washington State involuntary treatment process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough, accurate, clinically sound psychosocial assessments with individuals in crisis.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and review of individualized, person-centered treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the individual, and their support system.
  • Gather collateral from the individual and involved parties to provide a thorough assessment of what an individual's needs are for treatment and discharge.
  • Facilitate admission intakes, discharge planning, and follow-up care to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of services.
  • Coordinate care and referrals with internal staff, families, clinics, local providers, and community resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) and related processes, monitor petitions, and participate in hearings when required.
  • Maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including documentation of activities performed as part of the service delivery process.
  • Prepare clinical reports and individualized service plans utilizing agency electronic clinical documentation software.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation of all clinical services in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Demonstrate competency through ongoing professional development, supervision, and participation in required trainings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
