The Oncology clinic nurse works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, CMAs, pharmacists, phlebotomists, non-clinical staff and providers, to provide safe and quality care for the patient during their clinic visit. Duties include patient triage, medication administration, assist with procedures, order entry, and care coordination through the continuum of care. Teamwork is important for the position and those the nurse works with. The Oncology Clinic RN Coordinator will consistently work with a specific oncology team to focus on patient care coordination and create smooth transitions from one stage of therapy to the next for the patient. Oncology experience is required, ambulatory preferred. The Ambulatory Clinic RN Coordinator will coordinate all clinical care within clinics to maximize safety, patient and co-worker satisfaction and quality outcomes. Will work with a specific multidisciplinary disease team to deliver quality and safety of care through the continuum of care during the patients time here at MUSC. Job duties include utilizing the nursing process (Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation & Evaluation) in coordinating care for patients in the clinic setting. This includes order entry, EPIC inbasket management, patient education, care planning, ensuring patient appointments are made, and working closely with the RN Navigator between systems, locations, and types of therapy (Rad/Onc, Surgery, Chemotherapy, Palliative Care, Survival). They will also work closely with the other clinical team members (Providers, APPs, CMAs, LPNs, RNs, Pharmacists, etc.) and coordinate care appropriately during clinic.
