The J53 unit is a 24-bed cardiovascular telemetry unit that specializes in post-open heart, surgical, and ventricular assist device patients. This unit is fast-paced and provides excellent opportunities in nursing growth and development with the ability to care for patients undergoing innovative procedures. As an RN on our team, you will play a vital role throughout the patient care journey, providing expert, life-saving interventions while offering compassionate support that promotes safety, recovery, and a positive patient and family experience. In this role, you will work closely with patients and their loved ones, enhancing their understanding of their condition and treatment plan and ensuring they feel informed, supported, and cared for at every step.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
