Requirements

  • Graduate of approved nursing program required.
  • RN - Current State of California Registered Nurse license required.
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into job.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and coordinate high quality standard peri-operative care for the Cardiac patient, in conjunction with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, ancillary and support staff.
  • Provide direct patient care in the surgical environment and work collaboratively with the surgeon and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Work under the direct supervision of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase.
  • Deliver patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs with the highest professional standard.
  • Promote nursing excellence through continued education and research.
