As a(an) RN Cardiac Rehab PRN you can be a part of change. Terre Haute Regional Hospital (THRH) is seeking a detail orientated and experienced Cardiac Rehab RN to join our close-knit team. In this role, you'll be responsible for assessing, implementing and evaluating direct and indirect care of cardiac and pulmonary rehab inpatients and outpatients. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current licensure of The Indiana State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire date and maintained throughout employment.
  • 2 years of experience as a professional staff nurse on a monitored cardiac unit (i.e. PCU or ICU) or as a Cardiac Rehab Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial patient evaluation, history, psycho-social assessment and risk factor assessment.
  • Review diagnostic data including lab results and stress testing.
  • Accurately identify EKG rhythms and care for patients with abnormal EKG rhythms and other physiological findings.
  • Develop individualized exercise prescriptions including all aspects of reconditioning.
  • Conduct reconditioning sessions according to rehab protocol.
  • Assist with patient education.
  • Be cross trained in Special Diagnostics to perform testing (i.e., TEE, stress test).
  • Communicate with patient's physician regarding patient progress, with periodic program notes.
