The Kemper Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a busy and fast-paced 14-bed Intensive Care Unit that provides 24/7 monitoring of patients suffering from heart diseases and conditions, such as chest pains, heart attacks, or life-threatening irregular heart rhythms. Caregivers in this unit work with the Department of Cardiology and the Invasive Cardiology team, participate in the Code Crimson team, respond to all in-patient rapid responses and Code Blue alarms, and regularly assists in the monitoring and care of patients receiving moderate sedation procedures, such as transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and cardioversions. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
