About The Position

Join Baylor Heart & Vascular Hospital (BHVH) Dallas as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Universal (CUB) Unit and be part of something better! Patient Population: Post Cardiology Interventional, Post Vascular Surgical/Interventional, Advanced heart Failure. True Cardiac ICU- CRRT, Impella, Swan, AIBP, etc. This unit operates as a Cardiac Universal Bed (CUB) in that they have Cardiac ICU and Cardiac Telemetry patients. All nurses on the unit must be comfortable caring for both.

Requirements

• Grad of an Accredited Program in nursing.
• A current and valid nursing license.
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
• Candidates MUST have minimum of 1-year recent, full time ICU, PCU, or Telemetry RN experience.

Nice To Haves

• Cardiac ICU and/or Cardiovascular ICU/CVICU specific RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments.
• Prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
• Build relationships and manage discomfort with patients and families.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members.
• Assess and document learning needs regularly.
• Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan.
• Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
• Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
• Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
• Achieve goals through teamwork and recognize contributions.
• Commit to growth and contribute to peers' development.
