About The Position

I. Position Summary: Provides for the comfort and well-being of the patient while in Houston Heart Institute. Assists cardiologist during electrophysiology/device procedures, cardiovascular/peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures. Becomes proficient in the operation of all cardiovascular/peripheral related equipment and in the performance of any related duties of cardiovascular/peripheral procedures. Assists with PI, P&P, and staff education. Will perform in other areas of Cardiology including Holter monitor hook-up/ report retrieval, IABP, TEE’s, cardiac rehabilitation, fluoroscopy, pacemakers, and hemodynamic monitoring. Call rotation required with immediate response and 30-minute arrival time from notification. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare. II. Qualifications: A. Education & Training: Graduate of approved school of nursing B. Experience: Two (2) years of Cardiac Cath Lab/EP or Critical Care Nursing C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current US state RN license with authorization to practice in the state of GA. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification, required. AHA ACLS/AHA ALS certification required or obtained within 9 months of employment. Successful completion of an HHC Basic Rhythm Interpretation Course or CLEP Exam within nine (9) months of hire. D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to utilize standard office equipment. Must be able to utilize diagnostic treatment equipment as well as patient care equipment. Requirements
