About The Position

This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. As an RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Martin North Hospital, you will provide care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures like angioplasties and stent placements. This is a fast-paced environment with very critical care patients, requiring an RN in this position to have previous critical care experience. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed as well as assist the physician and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 5:30PM or 6:30AM – 5:00PM, with on-call requirements. This caregiver must live within 30 minutes of Martin North Hospital.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider licensed military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification upon hire or within one year of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Critical care, Emergency Room, Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab experience
  • ICU/CVICU experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
