About The Position

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Madison is seeking a dedicated individual for the Cardiac Cath Lab. The position involves planning, coordinating, and implementing care for adult patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring quality care is provided efficiently and safely. The candidate will be responsible for performing various roles within the Cath Lab procedure team, including circulator, scrub, or monitor, and will engage in patient education and support throughout the perioperative process.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• State of Work Location: Wisconsin.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State or Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA).

Nice To Haves

• Prior Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
• Experience with PCI, Right hearts, Balloon pumps, and shockwave procedures.
• Experience with structural procedures is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs on the Cath Lab procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor.
• Ensures patient is correctly prepped for the procedure.
• Utilizes critical judgment to analyze patient assessment and administer medications.
• Performs hemostasis safely and properly with or without vascular devices.
• Routinely enters patient orders and charges, checking for accuracy.
• Provides care for critically ill patients and functions independently in stressful situations.
• Educates patients and families based on assessed needs and documents education provided.
• Assists families to the cardiology or Cath lab area as necessary.
• May perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
