Electrophysiology (EP) is a medical subspecialty and diagnostic procedure that studies the heart’s electrical activity to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. An electrophysiology study (EP study) uses catheters with electrodes to record the heart's electrical signals and can involve interventions like catheter ablation or pacemaker/defibrillator implantation. By joining the EP team as an RN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Invasive Lab. You will have a direct impact on patient care and be the one to shape the patient's experience, while being a part of an elite healthcare organization. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Criss
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years of Electrophysiology (EP) or Cath Lab (CL) experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
