The 5 East Cardiac Stepdown Unit at Indian River Hospital offers acuity telemetry and medical attention to a diverse patient population. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers and staff in ensuring patients, families and visitors have the best possible experience while in your care. Utilizing your nursing skills and knowledge, you can leave a lasting impact on everyone you meet, all while pursuing advanced education and professional development initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
