About The Position

Helps to direct and coordinate patient’s continuum of breast cancer care in navigating cancer services from pre- diagnosis to treatment. This responsibility includes but not limited to patient education and support, appointments for follow up care with appropriate physicians, referrals to necessary services/resources. Meets with patient’s pre biopsy and/or post biopsy. Participate in the planning, development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.  Responsible for adhering to CVMC policies and procedures; abiding by the CVMC Nursing Bylaws; and practicing within the guidelines of the North Carolina State Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program
  • Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State
  • BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date
  • Two years of previous nursing experience
  • Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
