Position Title: RN Department: Birth Center Schedule: .9 status (36 hours per week) 12 hour shifts Night shift The Lactation Consultant RN provides specialized, evidence-based care to support breastfeeding and lactation for mothers and infants. This role assesses feeding needs, develops individualized lactation care plans, and assists with complex breastfeeding challenges. The RN educates and empowers families, serves as a resource for staff, and promotes best practices aligned with Baby-Friendly and clinical standards. While primarily focused on lactation, the RN collaborates with the Women & Children care team to ensure safe, culturally competent, and family-centered care. May be required to assume general Women & Children RN responsibilities, including care for mothers, newborns, or pediatric patients, when unit needs arise.
