About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients in our Behavioral Health Service Line Northwest Arkansas Clinic in Fayetteville, AR. The RN will primarily provide support for the physicians and act as a liaison between the patient, the front office staff, and the physicians. A successful candidate will have a clinical background, preferably in psychiatry or behavioral health. Primary duties will be to triage to determine the urgency of patient care, handle all crisis calls, answer medication questions in collaboration with physicians, take vital signs, review lab work and present exceptions to physicians, provide clinical assessment for initial call backs, and other duties as assigned. A successful candidate will have good communication skills, good time management and priority management skills, ability to prioritize and work with autonomy, good organizational skills, familiarity with psychiatric medication and interactions, and clinical experience with psychiatric patients and/ or environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas
  • Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) or more years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Current BLS
  • Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.
