About The Position

The Staff Nurse position at Bellevue Medical Center focuses on Cardiac & Stroke care, utilizing a Care Pair Model that pairs a nurse with a CNA to enhance patient care and job satisfaction. This 36-bed unit provides specialty care for cardiac and stroke patients, including those on cardiac drips and heart failure patients, as well as post-stroke care and telemetry. The position is full-time, with shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, and offers self-scheduling options. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in patient nursing, specialty/primary care clinic and/or telephonics preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred.
  • Proficient with use of email applications preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate delivery of clinical resources to assure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Perform duties in an environment of care where the needs of a patient are short term, non-acute, and non-life threatening.
  • Collaborate with a CNA to care for 5-6 patients as a team, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Focus on assessing and carrying out orders as they come, while relying on the CNA for assistance with activities of daily living.
