Requirements

• Current Oregon RN license.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.

• Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year recent acute care RN experience preferred.
• Department specific acute care certification (e.g., Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse, RN-BC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain therapeutic nurse-patient relationships.
• Assist in facilitating a structured environment and therapeutic milieu.
• Coordinate with peers to ensure effective nursing interventions are assigned or delegated.
• Demonstrate proficient medical/mental health nursing procedures.
• Rapidly assess and respond to crisis situations using available resources.
• Participate in patient and family education throughout the continuum of care.
• Assess patients' conditions and needs using critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Calculate dosages and administer medications accurately.
• Document all patient care in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies.
• Support departmental and organizational goals through continuous quality improvement activities.
