About The Position

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. This role is within a Behavioral Health Adult inpatient unit providing the treatment of individuals age 18-65 years with acute psychiatric illness or symptom exasperation of severe mental health disorders. Additionally, patients may have comorbid substance abuse disorders and medical comorbidities. The adult inpatient unit consists of 28 beds. The role also covers a Behavioral Health Geriatric Unit providing the treatment of individuals age 65 and over with acute psychiatric illness or symptom exasperation of severe mental health disorders. Additionally, patients may have more common medical comorbidities associated with chronic illnesses. The geriatric inpatient unit consists of 10 beds. Assesses patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
