About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health Program Nurse at Gulf Coast Center is responsible for providing direct patient care and healthcare administrative work within an outpatient clinic setting. This role focuses on coordinating medication clinics and follow-up care for adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, ensuring they receive appropriate pharmacological management and psychosocial support. Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited, Texas Board of Nursing approved RN education program.
• Fully licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
• Knowledge and experience working in a behavioral health care setting.
• Ability to provide sensitivity toward family needs and preferences during services.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with dually diagnosed mental health and substance use diagnosis.
• Spanish speaking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care and healthcare administrative work within outpatient clinic settings.
• Coordinate medication clinics and follow-up for adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
• Provide patient education and guidance about medications and possible side effects.
• Assist with crisis intervention services when clinically warranted.
• Ensure achievement of identified performance contract measures to improve patient health outcomes.
• Document clinical services provided according to guidelines and maintain accurate electronic health records.
• Monitor patient progress in relation to the Person-Centered Recovery Plan.
• Collaborate with physical healthcare teams to address co-occurring health needs.
• Conduct comprehensive screenings and record results in patients' electronic health records.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding persons served and adhere to compliance policies.
