Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required within 3 years of employment
  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Primarily pm and night shifts. A minimum of 50% of time must be after 7:00 pm and before 7:00 am
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC per unit requirement
  • Demonstrates leadership and teaching abilities
  • Demonstrates professional and ethical behavior
  • Must be passionate about nursing and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Provides assessment of educational needs and facilitation of unit compliance.
  • Assists Clinical Nurse Manager in identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of unit activities, projects, and hospital wide programs.
  • Responsive to coaching and applied learning to the next situation
  • Hold self and others accountable for safety by ensuring appropriate procedures and guidelines are followed and by paying attention to detail
  • Responsive to feedback for improvement and demonstrates continued progress by improving competencies
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate issues and concerns among patients, staff, managers, and physicians
  • Identifies and coordinates unit and hospital quality activities
  • Assists in unit compliance with accreditation standards
  • Serves as a clinical resource for staff regarding standards and provision of patient care
  • Participates as representative as indicated by Clinical Nurse Manager/Director
  • Demonstrates continued progress by improving competencies and skill development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, independent work habits and flexibility
  • Demonstrates current nursing knowledge
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to departmental policies and procedures
  • Accepts responsibility for the impact of actions on patients, visitors and other healthcare team members
  • Demonstrates accountability, reports mistakes and "near misses" timely and accurately
  • Demonstrates understanding of continuous improvement through processes that support QA/PI strategic focus and goals
