The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) offers advanced outpatient surgery, allowing patients to return home soon after their procedures without the need for overnight stays. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. This is a PRN position. A caregiver in this role works between 7:00am to 5:30pm when needed. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care utilizing the nursing process in a variety of settings. Direct other caregivers in providing patient care. Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager. Develop educational material and provide health education to patients and families. Process patients through the ASC. Assess the level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes. Actively participate in attaining ASC goals and mission. Monitor and evaluate cost effective practices within the ASC. Participate in the development and utilization of quality monitoring programs within the ASC. Responsible for personal and staff development by maintaining nursing competencies and participating in the preparation of staff development programs. Identify self-learning needs by establishing personal and professional goals to meet those needs and evaluate the attainment of the set goals. Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and staff members.
