RN - Ambulatory Clinic Telephone Triage - Per Diem - 8 Hour - Variable Shift
About The Position
The Ambulatory Telephone Triage Nurse plays a crucial role in providing timely and efficient healthcare support to patients by telephone. The Telephone triage nurse provides timely and accurate assessment of a patient’s symptoms and utilizes critical thinking, nursing judgement, and approved decision support tools to provide appropriate nursing advice and determine the level of care required. This is a hybrid remote position that requires a minimum of one on-site shift per week. RNs must meet all eligibility criteria prior to transitioning to hybrid remote status.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program – Required
- RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required
- Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making ability
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work well independently
- Functions well in a high-stress environment
- Sound critical thinking
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Empathetic with the ability to develop trust with patients
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing - Preferred
- 1 Year Acute Care Hospital - Preferred
- 1 Year Ambulatory, triage, or medical office experience - Preferred
- 1 Year Telephone Triage – Preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish- preferred
