About The Position

This Registered Nurse position at Samaritan Hospital / St Mary's Campus Alcohol Rehab focuses on addressing the medical and psychiatric needs of patients experiencing mental health and substance abuse problems. The role ensures a professional, caring, and safe environment by adhering to clinical and safety standards for high-quality patient care. The RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, planning comprehensive nursing care (including spiritual, emotional, and physiological aspects), and overseeing the execution and evaluation of this care plan, either through direct performance or leadership of supervised personnel. Accountability for the quality of patient care is directly to the Nurse Manager. The RN must adapt and deliver care specific to the age, growth, and development of patients in line with the unit's scope of services. When acting in a charge role, the RN also performs clinical and leadership functions, assessing patient needs and planning necessary nursing care. The licensed Registered Nurse plans and provides professional nursing services and standards of practice in accordance with their experience, education, state board of nursing regulations, and established policies and procedures, integrating the art, science, leadership, and knowledge of nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical, and respectful direct/indirect healthcare services.

Requirements

  • A NYS License (Registered Nurse)
  • BLS Required
  • Possess the ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene and evaluate patient care.
  • Be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of RN experience preferred

  • Perform clinical and leadership functions when serving in the charge role.
  • Plan and provide professional nursing services and standards of practice in accordance with level of experience & education, state board of nursing & established policies & procedures.
  • Integrate the art, science, leadership & knowledge of the nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical & respectful direct / indirect healthcare services.
