About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Admissions RN, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
Currently licensed to practice by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 30 days of employment.
Successful completion of Handle with Care training and Service Excellence Training within 90 days of employment.

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
