The RN Admissions Resource Nurse has primary responsibility for timely scheduling of face-to-face, "home" visits by hospice staff to those inquiring about hospice services' ideally meeting them on the same day as the inquiry. This role will play a crucial role in census development in conjunction with the marketing department. Whether through telephone, fax, or e-mail/website, this role creates each possible customer's first impression of Hospice of the North Coast.

  • Timely scheduling of face-to-face, "home" visits by hospice staff to those inquiring about hospice services
  • Meeting potential clients on the same day as the inquiry
  • Census development in conjunction with the marketing department
  • Creating each possible customer's first impression of Hospice of the North Coast
  • Completion of high school required; ADN PSN preferred additional coursework in healthcare-related areas strongly recommended.
  • CA RN License/CHPN preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of healthcare experience required. Must have at least two years of experience in hospice.
  • Track record of customer service excellence required.
  • Knowledge of hospice requirements including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines.
  • Ability to respond timely to the needs of physicians, discharge planners, long-term care partners, patients, and family members.
  • Ability to coordinate services with referral sources, hospice staff, patients, and families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others; consistently present with a calming manner and positive attitude.
  • Exceptional listening skills, creativity, and problem solving are vitally important to the time-sensitive nature of the work performed in this role.
  • Must have, or develop quickly, skills to navigate assorted spreadsheets, and our EMR -Matrix Care.
  • Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
  • CHPN preferred.
  • ADN PSN preferred additional coursework in healthcare-related areas strongly recommended.
