Cleveland Clinic’s J1-2 Inpatient Intake Unit serves as a transitional intake area for newly admitted patients coming directly from the Emergency Department (ED) before they are assigned to an inpatient unit This unit provides short-term stabilization and comfort while streamlining the front-end admission process ensuring exceptional care to patients. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. This position allows you to use your comprehensive skills and expertise to deliver outstanding care while providing you numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works rotating evening/night shifts from 3:00 p.m. -- 3:00 a.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One-year of current acute care RN experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
